MY FAVORITE THINGS: Miss Fortune Looks At The Full Spectrum/Grand Traverse Academy Contract

In advance of Friday's meeting of the Grand Traverse Academy's Board of Directors, this blog released the 15-page Full Spectrum Management, LLC contract. The contract, a public document, was obtained from Lake Superior State University through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Here are a few of my favorite things:

FEE ADVANCE

The contract allows the Board to "advance funds" to Full Spectrum Management for "expenses associated with the Academy's operations."

PERSONNEL DECISIONS

The contract grants Full Spectrum the "exclusive responsibility" for employment of the Academy's "teachers and staff".

GOOD STANDING

In the contract, Full Spectrum asserts that it "is a LLC in good standing and is authorized to conduct business in the State of Michigan" on March, 19, 2014, the date the contract was originally signed.

However, although Full Spectrum's corporation application was faxed to Lansing on March 19 at 4:31pm, its official formation/qualification date was March 20...the day after the contract was signed.
